A design to match the prestige of the brand.
The Brief
The overarching Brief for this project was simple and clear, design a new Porsche Centre in line with Porsche’s new Corporate identity. The specifics are where it got a little trickier… ‘A main showroom that had a commanding presence on a 14 acre piece of land’. It should include a 40 car used car showroom that feels like part of the main showroom and a state of the art workshop facility that also felt like an extension to the showroom… all connected by a drive in tunnel, oh, and they needed it quickly!
The Work
Understanding the client and their desires, wants and needs after an almost 25 year long working relationship, we were able to, within only one iteration of the design, tick all the boxes of the overarching building placement on the site, orientation and levels to provide what you see below.
The internal layouts were developed throughout the project, which we, the rest of the design team and the contractor, all worked tirelessly to adapt and perfect throughout the project lifespan.
Taking a project as prestigious as this from a ‘fag packet sketch’ right through to a successful completion, acting as lead consultant, project manager and contract administrator throughout the lifespan of the project allows us to keep the essence, simplicity and purity of the scheme firmly embedded in the designs, ensuring the client is not disappointed with the end result. After all, what we as designers create, must first and foremost tick the box.
